Depot Supervisor (Carlow)
Reporting to: Noel Rothwell, Operations Manager
Location/ Based: Carlow. This role will not involve working from home, however, see
below re. COVID-19 considerations. This role will be based out of the Campus Oil depot in
Graiguecullen, Carlow. Campus Oil are now part of DCC Oil Ireland – see below.
Nature of Position: Permanent
Notes: Flexibility required to work evenings and weekends in line with the
depot opening hours

In recent years DCC Oil Ireland (Emo Oil) has grown our business with the acquisition of Campus Oil,
Jones Oil, two lubricant businesses, and the establishment of the Certa pay @ pump network.
Due to recent growth and expansion, we are seeking a strong people and process leader to supervise
operations at our Campus Oil depot in Carlow.
Main Purpose of the Role:
To manage the day-to-day depot activities to achieve greater efficiencies for the business and
improve productivity within the team. The depot supervisor will be responsible for the management
of the sales and administration staff, manages stock control, oversees all day-to-day depot
operations, and will assist in the management of credit control.
Responsibilities:
People Management
• Management of a small depot team including rostering, recruitment, training and
performance management
• Fostering the DCC Oil Ireland culture where staff feel that they are part of a team and that
their efforts on behalf of the company are appreciated
• Identifying training needs, delivering training where appropriate
• Working closely with the drivers to ensure smooth running of depot deliveries
• Adhering to company HR policies including payroll reporting, managing discipline and
employee relations
Stocks
Maintain adequate stock levels at all times by:
• Managing stock replenishment
• Monitoring drivers End Of Day activities to ensure all procedures are followed
• Ensuring depot and truck stocks are reconciled on daily basis
• Investigating any discrepancies and advising management of any issues
• Ensure that all stock records are kept up to date and accurate
Sales
• Offer extensive customer service and retain relationships with new and existing customers
• Ensure a best in class customer experience for all yard based sales
• Working with sales agents to ensure that resources are managed effectively for inbound call
traffic and that calls are proactively handled to develop sales on both inbound and outbound
calls
• Identifying all potential new customers and having a clear strategy to acquire them
• Ensure that pricing policy is observed
Safety & Security
Ensure depot staff work in a safe and secure environment and that we conduct our business in a safe
manner by:
• Conduct Depot Induction for all staff including part time and temporary staff
• Ensure that all security procedures are following when an employee leaves the business
including recovering equipment such as keys etc. and confirming recovery of same to HR
• Following all company procedures including operational, security and H&S policies and
procedures
• Bringing to the attention of management any deficiencies in safety or security and making
recommendations where appropriate
Process and Procedures
• Working with Head Office to ensure all processing is closed off correctly to agreed timelines
• Fully account for all cash handled in the depot
• Complete End of Day processing on card terminals
• Investigate any discrepancies promptly and notify management at head office.

Education/ Skills/ Experience/ required:
• A proven track record and experience in a supervisory or similar role, with demonstrable
evidence of successful delivery of results
• A relevant 3rd level qualification or its equivalent in management, finance, sales or
marketing and experience in the oil industry are desirable
• Prior experience in office administration essential
• A highly motivated self-starter, the Depot Supervisor will operate in a multi-task
environment with deadlines and will be able to challenge themselves to exceed standards,
striving for best in class
• Attention to detail and accuracy essential
• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service. This includes
customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of
customer satisfaction.
